Services & Procedures
Scar revision is surgery to improve or reduce the appearance of scars. It also restores function, and corrects skin changes caused by an injury, wound, or previous surgery. Description Scar tissue forms as skin heals after an injury or surgery.
Scars can vary greatly depending on the size, depth, and location of the wound; your age and your skin characteristics including color and tone. Depending on the extent of the surgery, scar revision may be performed with a local anesthesia while more significant surgery may require a general anesthesia.
Scars tend to shrink over time and become less noticeable as they age. For some scars, it may be best to wait up to 60 to 90 days after the scar matures before undertaking scar revision surgery.
