Julie Butler, Secretary/Registration Specialist
Julie is the friendly face who will welcome you as you enter our office. She has worked for Akron General Hospital for several years and transitioned to Dr. Pedersen’s team this year. She earned her certification in Medical Billing and Coding in 2007 and has a decade of healthcare experience.
Julie loves working with patients and will make you feel right at home as you begin your journey with Plastic Surgeons of Akron. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters.
Regina Foster, BSN, RN-BC
Gina earned her BSN from The University of Akron in 2006 and her medical surgical certification from the ANCC in 2010. After spending her early career specializing in acute care, she now loves using her skills to help patients along their journey in the world of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. Gina has a passion for people and finds joy spending time with family and friends outside of the office.
She and her husband reside in Northeast Ohio where they share a love for Cleveland sports, good food, shopping and being the “super fun” aunt and uncle.
Janie Hale, Surgical Tech
Janie is Dr. Pedersen's surgical tech/assistant. Following graduation from Southland College in Los Angeles, California in 1977, Janie began her surgical nursing career. After moving to Ohio in 1992, she began working in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. Janie finds it very rewarding to help rebuild and reconstruct patients who have been altered by cancer or trauma. Janie says, “It’s always a good feeling to know that you have helped someone to feel better about themselves.”
Janie lives in Ravenna and is the very proud mother her daughter who is an orthopedic resident in Toledo. When not working, Janie enjoys traveling to California and Texas to visit family and enjoy the sunshine!
Betty Mulhollen, CMC, CPB
Betty is a graduate of the Akron Institute of Medical-Dental Assistants and has over 30 years of experience in the medical field specializing in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Ophthalmology and Orthopedics.
Betty and her husband Tim have two children and a beautiful grandson. When not busy helping patients, Betty enjoys gardening, reading, spending time with family and friends on the beach.
Amanda Hansinger, LPN
Amanda earned her LPN from the Akron School of Practical Nursing in 2008. She spent her early career in acute care and has now transitioned to the specialty of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She is a people person who loves interacting with patients.
You will feel immediately at home when you meet Amanda and as she helps you with your procedure. When not at work, Amanda loves to travel and spend time with her husband and two children.
Rachel Shoaff, Medical Aesthetician/Aesthetic Coordinator
Rachel was licensed by the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology in 2004. After earning a degree in Cosmetology with an emphasis in Aesthetics, she began her career at a leading day spa and beauty products retailer. Rachel then joined Dr. Pedersen’s practice in 2008. In her role as Medical Aesthetician and Aesthetic Coordinator, she will provide you with the very best beauty and skin care practices and products.
Outside of work, Rachel loves time with her family and adores her daughter. Rachel lives in Tallmadge where she loves spending time outdoors in the beautiful Ohio weather. She is a food enthusiast and loves watching romantic comedies, shopping, reading a good book, listening and dancing to music … and long walks on the beach!
Tina Nelman, Practice Manager
Tina has worked in the medical field for 16 years and has helped guide Dr. Pedersen’s practice since 2007. Her extensive experience in healthcare culminates in the ability to deal successfully with the demands of a busy practice and diverse patient base. Tina will help ensure a truly exceptional experience. She enjoys seeing the gratitude and satisfaction in patients as they witness their new-found confidence. As well as managing the practice, Tina is an expert in the insurance authorization process and surgery scheduling.
Tina lives in Peninsula with her husband and two children. She enjoys time with her family, vacationing, music, the great outdoors and cheering on The Buckeyes!
